The winter this year is giving us some amazing days that feels like spring and make you want to get outside and enjoy the weather. For lack of waves, we went for a hike in the basque country to gain altitude and admire the landscape. The 5 hours hike was beautiful, on the side of the hill, into the rocks and along the railroad leading to the top of the rhune, with a stunning view on the basque hills and the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees as a reward once at the top. Magical !
Practical informations : The hike is called “De Col en Col” and is located behind the rhune, it is quite accessible despite a few sections winding steeply upwards or a bit slippery, but with good shoes it is totally doable. The hike is 11km long with a difference in height of 604m, count about 4h walking starting from the village of Sare.
